Inner space May 24^th- June 4^th

Kathleen's work explores inner landscapes. Images emerge from her internal world through meditation and observation and everyday life.

Zen and Taoism inspire Kathleen's paintings and prints. She strives to distil her ideas and visualizations to their simplest essence relying upon the spontaneity to express emotion. This graphic, symbolic approach allows the space to focus.

Kathleen enjoys doing personal commissions and illustrations, each work is a unique challenge.

Previous commissions; Conran Design Group, Nomura Investment Company (Japan). The Trade Development Council (Hong Kong), K2 Design (Japan), The Seer, Chelsea and Westminster Council.

"EXHBITION "THE ART OF CALM" Skylark Galleries will put on a special exhibition for Slowdown London. An enticing display of paintings, original prints, sculpture and ceramics will radiate a sense of calm, inviting visitors to linger and browse in the two venues run by this committed and enthusiastic group of artists. Over the May Bank Holiday Weekend this exhibition will radiate out of the Galleries and onto the railings by the Thames at Bernie Spain Gardens (Weather permitting!)

SLOW DOWN - ARTISTS AT WORK ! Come and enjoy the relaxing pursuit of creating works of art. All are welcome, you can.....be a Pavement Artist, join a Collaborative Collage or watch our painters at the Easy Easels, guided by artists from the Cool, Calm, Collective.

3 Gallery Artists will each give a short 10 - 15 minute talk about their current working processes:

Gill Hickman - "Why Happy Cells" - Gill will explain the background to her current series of textural artworks.
Kathy Dutton - Create Inner Space - Meditation and Reiki healing inspire Kathleen's inner landscapes.
Lucinda Beatty - Very Slow Art - Lucinda will talk about the slow process of papier mache.

The painting shown below is titled:- Healing Earth- reminding us that our earth is a generous source of energy and life, hands outstretched in a gesture to heal the planet, yet it is just out of reach because we are still remembering how to give back.
